Madonaa serves her jury duty

Death, taxes, and jury duty are just about the only guarantees in life–even if your pop royalty like Madonna.

The morning after the Oscars, Madonna had to be up early for Jury duty in Beverly Hills. Madge showed up on time, went through security, hung out for a few hours chatting on her blackberry and was finally released after lunch. Time is money! Imagine how it would be to go all upset that you had to wake up to serve for jury duty and you actually wake up with Madonna sitting next to you. Maybe the state should make a campaign like come to serve the jury duty because you never know what celebrity will be next to you.

Aside from this, EW.com can is reporting that the title of Madonna’s forthcoming album will be Hard Candy. The record, her last studio effort for Warner Bros., includes a track called “Candy Store.” Madonna chose to stick with the sweet theme because “she loves candy,” says her longtime rep Liz Rosenberg. “It’s about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed ‘I’m gonna kick your ass, but it’s going to make you feel good.’”The album, which features production by Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, and Nate “Danja” Hills, will see a U.S. release on April 29.

Jaime Foxx To Play Mike Tyson in Movie

Jamie Foxx is set to play Mike Tyson in an upcoming film based on the life of the infamous fighter.

Tyson has planned the movie for some time and has already signed Foxx up for the role.

Tyson says, “Jamie Foxx and I will be working together. He will play me in the film about my life. We already talked about it several times.”

Tyson claims he is finally clean and sober after a lifetime of drug and alcohol abuse.

He says, “Even when I was training for a fight, there were no drugs, but I would drink. I had never been clean and sober my whole life. This is the first time. I’m tired of losing. I lost the trust of my family, my five kids. I didn’t like that way of life and decided to change. I saw the devil and didn’t want that.”

After reigning as the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 until 1990 Tyson’s life went into freefall when he was sent to jail for rape in 1992.After his 1995 release he continued to make headlines and caused outrage when he bit a chunk of rival Evander Holyfield’s ear off during a fight in 1997. Tyson - who is currently fighting bankruptcy - admits he struggled to cope even during the peak of his succes.

So it seems that there will be plenty of interesting things to see in the movie. Not intellectual stuff. You know the other ones: booze, fights, women…

Married Life Trailer

You have been married for a long time but what will you do if you fall in love with someone else?

Well, “Married Life” is the story of a middle-aged man called Harry Allen (Chris Cooper) who falls in love with another woman.
Instead of divorcing and humiliating his wife, the man decides that it would be better if he killed her.

The action of the film takes place in a city situated on the coast of Pacific Ocean in the year 1949. Crime, infidelity, dark humor are the best to define this production of Ira Sach which brought to Chris Cooper an Oscar. This whole competition between Harry and Richard Langley (Pierce Brosnan) will surely captivate your attention but watch out because this film will be prohibited to children under 13 years old for some thematic elements and some scenes of sexuality.

The film will be released on March 7th, 2008 and is distributed by Sony Pictures Classics.

Brad Renfro left out from Oscar “In Memory Of…”

Did you notice that during the Academy Awards‘ ‘In Memory of’ segment that Brad Renfro was completely left out?

I did, and a lot of you probably did too. TMZ also took notice and decided to contact the Academy to call them on it. And what did the Academy have to say in it’s defense? Well, it’s pretty disgusting really.

“It is simply not possible to include everyone in that segment.”

Are they serious? There were nearly 100 (98 to be exact) people in the business who had died in the past year who were mentioned. Everything from actors to makeup artists. And if you aren’t in the industry, there were many people that you had never even heard of who were remembered in the video.

A friend of the Renfro family called it “unbelievable and disgusting.”

I have to agree. I can’t help but think it was his cause of death (drug overdose) that led the Academy to completely ignore him. When Brad was winning awards and was named as one of People’s Top 30 under 30 everyone loved him. But die of a heroin overdose and it’s like nobody knew him.
